I am a palaeontologist at the National Museum in Bloemfontein.  My research interests include the study of the evolution and extinction of Permo-Triassic terrestrial vertebrates in the Karoo Basin of South Africa.

My current main focus involves the end-Permian extinction, the following Early Triassic Recovery and related changes in palaeo-community structure. I use both traditional techniques such as gross morphology and more specialized techniques such as bone histological analysis to study the biology and ecology of the terrestrial vertebrates associated with the end-Permian extinction event in South Africa.
