The Friends of Oliewenhuis / Vriende van die Oliewenhuis represents a voluntary association dedicated to supporting and enhancing the activities of the Museum. The Friends aim to find innovative ways to raise funds to purchase works of art for the Museum’s Permanent Collection and to present special exhibitions.

The Friends organise a wide range of events including monthly lectures, educational outreach programmes and exhibitions allowing members to broaden their knowledge of the arts. The Friends endeavour to involve the entire community in the life and growth of the Art Museum so that all may benefit.
